About Me
Born and raised in upstate New York, north of Syracuse a bit. My father is a retired teacher and my mother was a supervisor at an electronics firm. I got my first experience with business through my family, my Grandparents owned a bar/restaurant and had rental property. My father being a teacher had spare time in the summers and ran a painting and started many side businesses. I fondly remember having many long conversations with my dad, strategizing about what direction the business should go.
At the time, all I wanted to do was fly airplanes, so off to college I go, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University a great school for anything in aeronautics. My career was moving along nicely until 9/11, I think that one day changed my career more than anything (odd, I am re-launching this site on 9/11/09). Nothing close to what families went through and are still going through in NY but how things can change so quickly. I was laid off from United Airlines in early 2002 for four and a half years and was recalled in 2006 and laid off again earlier this year (2009), gotta love the airline business these days, so much is luck and timing.
Flying has a bit of downtime at hotels (it can be quite boring at times) so I started listening to podcasts. I discovered TWiST and Mixergy and thought why not gain some insight from very successful people before doing something on my own.
For those of you interested here are the planes I have flown professionally and the companies in chronological order:
