Ask Jason: I work at a small startup and disagree with the CEO’s vision, what do I do?
Chris Hourihan, employee at a small start up, he is a developer, fundamentally disagrees with position of CEO, how can he handle this? Tough position it is not his ship, your job is to give your best advice, direct boss agrees with Chris. CEO will be defensive, if he is enlightened will allow employees to fight for their position. Jason has them argue each other’s point, lists pros and cons sometimes both will work. Sit down with Boss and try explaining that you don’t get it and want to go over it one more time because you care so much. May want to ask to put it up to a vote and see where support lies. Ask yourself, is this a bet the business decision, where if you are wrong you are dead, then you need to discuss it, if not you can try his idea first and track success. Self reflect your position.
